- Extremely versatile, all-round blade
- Ultra sharp 15° cutting edge
- Ergonomic design
The G-2 delivers precision, durability and perfect balance making it a fantastic all-round blade for home cooks and professional chefs.
One of the best selling knives in the GS range, the GS-3 is a medium sized cook's knife that will perform a variety of kitchen tasks. It has a nice medium sized blade good for chopping, slicing and dicing and is useful whether you want to cut up vegetables or slice meat. It is really the smallest chef's knife notwithstanding the GS-1 which has a slightly different shape of blade. The GS-3 is also available as a fluted version, the GS-51.
GLOBAL’s award-winning, serrated Bread Knife designed for effortless slicing of crusty sourdough, soft loaves and delicate pastries. The perfect gift for home bakers, bread lovers and professional chefs.
- Winner of Which Best Buy Award
- Innovative blade design
- Engineered for even slices of bread
- Ergonomic handle
- Corrosion resistant
Designed with serrated teeth with built in chambers, the G-9 clears crumbs easily, helping guide the blade to cut clean, straight and even slices without tearing or crushing the bread.
What can a bread knife be used for?
Whilst designed for cutting bread, this serrated slicing blade could also be used for some tough meats, for example crackling.
The G-97 is Global's classically shaped bread knife. It is 2cm shorter than the G-9. It is a specialist knife, really for use with bread only. The teeth are made to saw through the crust of bread but could also be used for some tough meats, for example crackling. The funny thing is, the Japanese do not really eat bread and so it is one of those products that they never really understood! If you look closely at the knife blade you will see that on the face of the knife, the teeth have a chamber whilst on the back of the knife, the face is flat. When you cut into bread, you will automatically cut inwards in a curve rather than straight down and the chamber is there to help correct this so that your slicers will be more of a similar thickness all the way through. Whilst the G-97 can be used by left handers, the set up is right handed.
What is a bagel knife? Well it took a long time to explain to our Japanese suppliers what a bagel was and why we eat so many of them. Apparently it is a very American/British thing. Really the Global range was missing a small bread knife, as the GS series contained everything but a small bread knife. At 16cm it is good enough for most loaves of bread and it is also a cheaper option than buying the full G-9. It also doubles up as a good utility knife for vegetables that have a hard skin and soft center. So it is excellent for slices of large tomatoes as well.
We realized that some of our smaller Global blocks could not fit the large bread knife, so if you have the smallest size of ship shape block, the GS-61 is a god option.
Global SAI's bread knives are designed to cut through the crustiest loaves of bread, This bread knife is quite long and does not fit in the medium and small size Global blocks. If you are looking to add a bread knife to a block set, try the SAI-M04 which has only a 17cm blade.
The GSF-15 is the most popular petty knife in the Global range and is very often found in set combinations. Its little 8cm blade is good for all those small kitchen tasks, peeling, cutting fruit and small delicate kitchen work. This knife can cover all the tasks of the other GSF range and is a classic all-rounder. Its fully forged blade is strong enough to get into and separate meat joints and can put up with a certain amount of twisting and levering, just don't use it as a screwdriver or to open jars of paint!
The GS-36 9cm Paring Knife is a seriously nifty little instrument with a 9cm blade and character hollow handle. It makes up part of the Little Essentials range of kitchen knives which are useful for lots of little tasks in the kitchen. It is the hollow handle alternative to the GSF-15 and often found in more recent sets.
The hollow handle has an ergonomic shape making this little knife comfortable to handle. The plain blade makes this knife great for peeling and coring fruit or vegetables as well as other tasks that require precision. The GS Series is Global's range of small and medium sized knives and accessories which encompass everything from cook's knives to tweezers and spatulas. All GS knives are made with their Chromova18 stainless steel.
The GSF-46 is virtually identical to the GSF-15, but it has a slightly deeper blade. These small paring knives are perfect for little kitchen tasks like cutting up fruit or taking the eyes out of potatoes.
A nice wide Spatula from Global knives good for turning food on a grill or frying pan. Nice and flexible to weave under something, it is convenient for soft food that can fall apart like fish.
The GFS-16 works well as a peeling knife or paring knife and is sort of between both. The down-turned tip of the blade is said to resemble the shape of a lamb's foot because of the curved edge and flat blade. For those wanting a proper peeler, we suggest the GSF-17 as it has a fully curved blade, but if it is a choice between a GSF-17 and a GSF-15, the GSF-16 is a good compromise and can be used for most small kitchen tasks.
The biggest brother of the GSF-15 and GSF-22, the GSF-24 is the largest forged utility knife in the Global range. It is a bit of an odd knife, it is really a bit big to sit in the GSF category, but shares the same profile and flat handles of the other GSF knives. The GSF-24 has quite a long 15cm blade, which gives it better use towards slicing and carving meat. Nevertheless an all-round performer which can be used for most kitchen tasks.

Global's GT series of deluxe steel tableware items are designed to compliment your Global Knife range. Each item is made from Satin finished steel and contains Global's famous black dots.
The biggest of the Global spatula range, the GS-27 has a large fanned blade with holes in, which makes this spatula particularly good fro cooking with larger items that are either greasy or tend to fall apart like whole fish. The slanted edge gives a good angle to section of slices or push away grease.

Global produce 4 different sizes or cranked spatula, a GS 42/4 10cm, GS 42/6, 15cm, GS 42/8 20cm and GS 42/10 25cm. These cranked spatulas are so named due to the large kink in the knife blade. This raises the handle somewhat away from the cooking surface, keeping your hands cooler. It also makes it easier to get a fully flat connection between the knife blade and the frying surface, ideal if you need to press down on any burgers or bacon to help it cook faster. All the GS-42 series feature a hollow handle with thumb rest for added control.
